Advanced Monitoring System for Conventional and High Frequency Ventilation

چکیده
Th ere are many techniques of conventional artifi cial lung ventilation (CV) that are widely used in clinical practice. However, these techniques can cause severe lung damages and also circulatory problems. Searching for new methods of artifi cial lung ventilation (ALV) that can provide the necessary gas exchange in lungs leads to implementation of new unconventional ventilatory techniques, especially high frequency ventilation (HFV). On the other hand, these unconventional techniques are diff erent from CV. Th ere is a strong need for a sophisticated monitoring system for rational application of HFV.

O16: Long Term Video EEG (AC/DC) Monitoring
Long term video electro-encephalographic (EEG) monitoring (LTM) is defined as the continuous and synchronized recording of EEG and multimedia to analyze brain abnormalities. A conventional LTM system continuously records EEG in the frequency range of 0.5-70Hz. The data synchronization, the high-volume data management, the system reliability as well as noise reduction remain significant challeng...

متن کاملNeonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome With High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation or Conventional Ventilation for Neuromotor Outcome at 2 Years of Very Preterm Infants Who Were Treated
OBJECTIVE. In a previous multicenter, randomized trial, elective use of high-frequency oscillatory ventilation was compared with the use of conventional ventilation in the management of respiratory distress syndrome in preterm infants 30 weeks. No difference in terms of respiratory outcome was observed, but concerns were raised about an increased rate of severe intraventricular hemorrhage in th...
متن کاملHigh-frequency oscillatory ventilation for rescue from refractory hypoxemia in a patient with transfusion-related acute lung injury.
Transfusion-related acute lung injury is a serious complication of blood transfusions. Herein is a report on a 32-year-old woman who developed diffuse pulmonary infiltrates and acute respiratory compromise after blood transfusion. Non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema was diagnosed based on data calculated by the hemodynamic monitoring system, but severe hypoxemia persisted despite conventional pres...
